Me: Live, Prerecorded (and i.s.o. Feedback)

I’ll be appearing in the Peachpit booth next Thursday January 17 at Macworld at 4 pm; if you’ll be at the show checking out whatever earthshaking development surfaces that week by all means come say hello and check out my little presentation illuminating why realistic compositing is essential to civilization as we know it.

If you’re local to SF but can’t make it I will also present a different skin of this presentation a couple of weeks later at the SF Cutters meeting on January 31 at Adobe’s lovely SF HQ. My pals Stu Maschwitz and Bob Donlon will also appear at that one – really nice place to have an event.

You may have heard me co-host the Christmas day episode of the VFX Show podcast (topic was a film hardly anyone saw, Hitman). We’ve just recorded another fun one (on one a lot of people saw, I Am Legend). These are fun and well-researched shows that usually are fairly disciplined about staying on the topic of visual effects techniques and critiques.

Finally, a small and humble plea: if you’re a fan of After Effects CS3 Professional Studio Techniques and have something helpful to say to others contemplating picking it up, please add feedback at amazon.com – your comments count for a lot, even if you’ve never posted one before, and at this writing the book has been out for several weeks and has none! I am of course shy about asking but was encouraged to do so by my always encouraging editor, Karen Reichstein.
